Radiation Protection Officer – Cardiac Catheterization Lab

You will take on a key and highly responsible role in the cardiac catheterization laboratory and neurosuite. Working closely with an interdisciplinary team, you will support complex interventional procedures and, as Radiation Protection Officer, ensure the safety of patients and staff.

Job Description
This position offers a diverse and demanding role in the cardiac catheterization laboratory and neurosuite. In addition to assisting in interventional procedures, you will assume overall responsibility for radiation protection.

Responsibilities

  • Sterile and technical assistance during invasive cardiology procedures and interventional radiology and neuroradiology interventions

  • Patient care before, during, and after catheter-based procedures

  • Documentation of procedures and ensuring accurate hemodynamic patient data

  • Close interdisciplinary collaboration with physicians, patients, and healthcare staff

  • Participation in on-call duty

Additional Responsibilities as Radiation Protection Officer

  • Overall responsibility for radiation protection in the cardiac catheterization lab, operating rooms, and electrophysiology

  • Ensuring compliance with all legal requirements and safety regulations

  • Organization and coordination of radiation protection measures, including appointment of radiation protection officers

  • Monitoring equipment maintenance and compliance of X-ray systems

  • Performing acceptance and consistency testing

  • Training and instructing staff in radiation protection and safe use of X-ray technology

  • Documentation and reporting of dose values for staff and patients, including reporting incidents to authorities

Profile

  • Completed qualification as a Radiology Technologist HF

  • Several years of professional experience and strong affinity for medical technology

  • High level of independence, team orientation, and strong organizational and communication skills

  • Motivation to continuously learn and develop professionally

  • High physical (e.g. wearing lead aprons) and psychological resilience

Salary

  • Gross salary of approx. CHF 5,700 – CHF 6,500, paid in 13 monthly salaries

  • Compensation depends on age, professional experience, and canton
